It was the icing on the cake for a chain of estate agents and chartered surveyors when they raised more than £3,000 for Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance from a coffee morning.

Staff at Howard Cundey held the fundraising event last month at their offices in Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Biggin Hill, Bletchingley, Lingfield, East Grinstead, Edenbridge, Oxted, Forest Row and Reigate.

In total, they raised £3,125 for the life-saving charity including a £1,000 donation from a passer-by who called into Howard Cundey’s High Street office in Tunbridge Wells.

Senior Partner Tim Foulkes said: “Apparently the very generous benefactor hadn’t given to charity so far this year so we were in the right place at the right time.

“We would like to say a big thank you to all those who visited us for cake and coffee and made a donation despite the inclement weather.”

Howard Cundey has previously raised more than £600 for the Air Ambulance from a raffle and donations from clients instead of Christmas cards.

The company also sponsored the charity’s Double 100 Cycle Challenge on Sunday – a 100mile or 100km bike ride which started and finished at the Surrey and Sussex helicopter base at Redhill Aerodrome.
