A Horley nurse has been given an early Christmas present after winning almost £15,000 in Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance’s charity lottery.
Kathy Baughan won the jackpot in the life-saving charity’s Superdraw just five months after signing up to be a member.
The grandmother-of-three picked her lucky numbers 4, 6, 13 and 16 from family birthdays and was stunned when they came up in the midweek draw.
Kathy won a total of £14,880.06 which she plans to spend on a holiday to Tenerife and tickets to see her favourite football team.
She said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to have won, just before Christmas as well. Am I dreaming or what? I’m shocked because I only joined the lottery in June.”
Kathy landed her lottery win on October 30th, the same day her beloved Tottenham Hotspurs beat Hull 8-7 on penalties in the league cup.
On Friday, delighted Kathy picked up her winnings from the Air Ambulance base at Redhill with daughter Michelle and grand-daughter Kitty. Just two days earlier, a work syndicate from Ashford in Kent scooped £3,747 in the Superdraw.
Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance’s Regular Lottery costs just £1 per week and there are 12 winners drawn each week and with prizes ranging from £25 to £1,000.
For an extra £1 a week, players can join the Superdraw which has a maximum jackpot of £25,000 – a life-changing amount. To join the lottery go to www.kssairambulance.org.uk/Lottery/join_lottery or call 01622 833833.
