Golfers build for the future

Housing developer Bewley Homes presented a cheque for £14,184.89 from their charity golf day to the crew of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance when they visited the charity’s base recently.

The developer hosted the day at Sandford Springs Hotel & Golf Club in Kingsclere. More than 145 guests, including many of the company’s suppliers and contractors, played 2 of the 3 nine-hole loops before they enjoyed dinner, followed by a raffle and auction.

Andrew Brooks, Managing Director of Bewley Homes, said: “This is the first golf day that we have hosted for some time and we are very grateful to our suppliers and contractors for their support, both by attending but also supplying some generous auction prizes that enabled us to raise such an amazing amount of money for the charity. The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance provide a vital service and we are proud to have been able to support them.”

The air ambulance delivers enhanced pre-hospital care across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and the borders of Hampshire and it is the only Helicopter Emergency Medical Service in the country to operate 24 hours a day.

Adrian Bell, Chief Executive of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, said: “We are very grateful to everyone at Bewley Homes for putting on such an excellent golf day and their very generous support. This donation will make a significant difference to the charity and enable us to make a real difference to the lives of those people who need our help.”

Bewley Homes has decided to make their charity golf day an annual event and has already booked next year’s event at Sandford Springs on Wednesday 29th June 2016.
