Jennifer Cox from Canterbury has won a brand new convertible Mini Cooper in the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust's raffle campaign, which raised enough money to fund around 100 life-saving missions.
Jennifer Cox bought the winning ticket at Whitefriars Shopping Centre in Canterbury on Friday 13th May last year.
Jennifer and her husband were treated to a champagne reception and lunch yesterday (Tuesday 11th April) at the Rowhill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa in Dartford.
She said: "I was stunned to hear that my ticket was drawn on Friday 31st March – I thought it was an April Fools joke when the charity called to say I'd won! I was so shocked because I've never won anything other than an apron and a cookery book in a raffle at my local group. I still can't believe it.
"I bought two tickets for the raffle because the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust is such a good cause and I wouldn't have walked by and not contributed. I'm absolutely delighted to have won."
More than 180 promotions were held throughout the year at events, shopping centres and supermarkets, giving members of the public the opportunity to buy their ticket.
The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust relies almost entirely on public support to raise the £6.5million needed to provide the service.
Each time one of the charity's helicopters is tasked, the cost is around £2,500 so the fantastic sum raised is enough to fund around 100 life-saving missions.
Chief Executive, Adrian Bell, said: "We are extremely grateful to all the venues that have given us a platform to raise awareness of the charity, and to the public for their huge generosity.
"The charity is very much a community asset and, as such, should always be at the heart of the community we serve."
The charity is launching another car raffle at the end of the month for the chance to win a BMW 1 Series.
There will also be a second prize of £1,000 and a third prize of a helicopter pleasure flight from Redhill Aerodrome.
The draw will be held on 2nd November 2017.
